We strive to ensure the safety and well being of all citizens throughout Hettinger County as well as visitors to our county.  We push to embed strong relationships within the county by integrating community policing philosophies to develop strong working partnerships within our communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Office is:

•  To safeguard the freedoms and preserve life and property of all citizens within Hettinger County by providing quality law enforcement.
•  To maintain order and encourage respect for the rule of law by integrating a "Fair but Firm" enforcement strategy.
•  To earn respect of all citizens within Hettinger County by maintaining a professional, well trained, and accountable work force that carries out their duties with  fairness, tolerance, and equality to the best of their ability.
•  To identify and resolve community problems and concerns through community oriented policing and interaction strategies in a timely manner.
